How To Keep Your Feet Comfy: Thermal Regulation of Bamboo and Cotton Socks

As early as the Shang Dynasty in China, more than 2000 years ago, bamboo was already used in clothing. Today, there have been factories that have started to make clothing made out of nothing other than bamboo. So why don’t these factories just use plain cotton or polyester? These companies are claiming that the bamboo fibers have many useful properties including antibacterial, non-irritant, amazing at wicking, allergy reducing, good for the environment, and thermal regulating! The question is: does bamboo fiber actually do all of this?

Flippysox is here to find out! In this new post, there will be three sections: thermal regulation, wicking, and odor resistant. In each we are going to be testing the bamboo sock against a cotton sock! Today we are doing thermoregulation and we will be seeing how fast the sock can get rid of heat. So are these factories really being truthful about the bamboo’s magical properties, or is this all just a myth? CarilohaRunning RoomMountainbiking,
