What Happens When You Microwave Your Sock?

During an average day of walking, the pressure on your feet can total hundreds of tons, which is about the same weight as a fully-loaded cement truck. Now when you are running, exercising, or doing your favorite sport… that’s a lot of pressure on your ankle!

It’s time to use some Natural Zen Healing on your foot. In this series we are going to be looking at when to use heat packs, ice packs, epsom salts, compression, massages, and tickling (Yes, tickling) to help your ankle be at maximum health. We are also going to add our own crazy experiments into the mix!

We are starting with perhaps the most aged, longest practice of them all; heat. Heat therapies and remedies date back to Ancient Egyptians, where they used thermal baths, mud baths and even hot air caverns linked to volcanic sources to relax muscles and help joint pain. The only problem is, if they started to hear a rumble in the hot air caverns, they’d have to get out of there quickly! So what does heat really do to help your ankle? We are going to try an experiment of our own: microwave your sock, wear it, and see what happens!
