Wearable Zepp Soccer Review #1 – Sprint Speed, Number of Sprints, Distance
Hello and welcome to the first post of the electronic sock series! In this first post, we will be reviewing the ZEPP PLAY soccer (a small strawberry-sized device that goes into a sleeve on the back of your calf) for its accuracy in distance, max sprint speed, and number of sprints. To do this, we are also using a phone app called MyTracks as a comparison along with our own accurate measurements.
For the sprint speed, the zepp was around 15% off while MyTracks was 25% off. When we measured number of sprints, I ran one stretch, stopped for 5 seconds, then went again until I had done 4 stretches. The zepp measured this as 0 sprints meaning that it was 100% inaccurate. Finally, when measuring the distance the zepp was around 17% off while MyTracks was 0% inaccurate.
Even though the zepp isn’t always 100% accurate, its a quick and easy way to get an idea of your stats without doing any math. Stay tuned for more experiment results of the zepp!
