Father’s Day around the world
Father’s Day is celebrated on third Sunday in June. Although the practice of honoring fathers on the third Sunday in June began in the USA there is now Father’s Day in more than 40 countries around the world. However some countries use march 19 to celebrate father’s day as that is also the feast day of saint joseph.
Father’s Day in Thailand is also the King’s birthday which is December 5th. it is traditional to carry out good deeds to mark the day with many people giving blood and also celebrates the day with fireworks
In Germany Father’s Day is referred to as Mannertag and involves drinking lots of beer and eating traditional food. It can be a quite raucous affair.
